The Colorado Research Mine:
A Research Expertise Database for the School of Medicine at the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center

The Colorado Research Mine uses a tag based approach to find faculty at the University of Colorado with a particular research expertise. Tags are derived from PubMed, NIH CRISP, Center for Disease Control and research techniques and technologies.

Using the tabs above users can find faculty experts through their publications, grants, techniques/technologies or industry-related tools (patents, copyrights, scientific advisory boards, industry supported research).

Currently, the research expertise database is populated with faculty from the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center School of Medicine. There are 2056 School of Medicine faculty included in the database. The database includes:

MESH and CRISP terms provide the ability to characterize faculty research expertise. The terms also allow quick cross-referencing to other faculty with the like terms. Collaborative opportunities are then created.

It will be expanded to include all of the schools at the Health Sciences Center and then the Downtown Denver Campus. Eventually, it will be part of the whole University of Colorado system.
